About

Otago is a golfing mecca in the South Island of New Zealand and Dunedin has four 18 hole golf courses well worth a visit.

Taieri Lakes is a championship layout with tree lined fairways and 3 lakes that come into play on 4 holes. Located 15 minutes from the Octagon, Taieri is sheltered from the north easterlies and generally 3 – 4 degrees warmer than Dunedin.

The Taieri Lakes golf course is an enjoyable golf course that anyone can play – from the eager beginner to the low handicapper. It has a good mixture of challenging holes testing your driving and approach skills into the green and a good mix of variety that makes the Taieri Lakes Golf Course exciting to play.

Commander John Derring Harris RN designed the course which is a par 72 spread over 5924 metres of North Taieri Countryside making full use of natural surroundings. The club was established in 1920 and has been on its present site since 1969. The 3 lakes and tree lined fairways make for wonderfully challenging natural hazards.

Taieri Lakes offers excellent practice facilities with a practice fairway, 2 practice putting greens and bunkers and a covered coaching bay. Golf clubs, trundlers and motorised golf carts are all available to hire.
