Map"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Taieri Lakes is a challenging 18 hole championship golf course, and the only one in the Dunedin metropolitan area to feature multiple water hazards. \u00a0The addition of the two new holes in December 2020 has added to its challenge.<\/p>\n<p>To cater for multiple levels of player, there are four sets of tees:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Black<\/strong> &#8211; Championship, 5897 metres<\/p>\n<p><strong>White<\/strong> &#8211; Mens, 5695 metres<\/p>\n<p><strong>Red<\/strong> &#8211; Ladies, 5082 metres<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purple<\/strong> &#8211; Junior\/Beginner 2000 metres<\/p>\n<p>There is also a &#8220;flat 9&#8221; layout that is played on the flat parts of the course and is open for play on Mondays.<\/p>\n<p>Click on a number to view details about the SI 10\u00a0<\/strong>Short, straight par 5 that longer hitters will be will be expecting to reach in two. But beware, a lake awaits any drives hit too far left, and trees and a well-placed bunker will trap any shots drifting right. The elevated green is guarded by two bunkers, and any shots falling short will find their way into the creek that guards the approach.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-1\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 2<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 3. \u00a0 \u00a0 100M. \u00a0 SI 16. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0Elevated par 3 that plays longer that its yardage. \u00a0The long thin green has plenty of slope and a ball above the hole makes for a difficult two putt. \u00a0A par here is always a good result.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 3<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 4 | 300M | SI 8\u00a0<\/strong>An elevated tee shot that favours a left to right shape. A good drive will set up a mid to short iron, but with a hazard long and left, and large trees and a creek on the right there is a premium of finding the fairway. The green is guarded by bunkers front left and right.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-3\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 4<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 3 | 180M | SI 2 <\/strong>A long, tough par 3. With a creek 20M short of this green and flowing around to the right of the green, the safe shot keeps to the left side. The green has some deceptive slopes and this hole deserves its low stroke index.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-4\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 5<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 5 | 455M | SI 14 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>A dogleg right par 5 that is reachable in two by longer hitters. \u00a0Requires a left to right tee shot to avoid going through the fairway into the hazard, the approach shot needs to navigate the three bunkers guarding the green.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-5\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 7<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 3 | 100M | SI 4 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong> \u00a0Every great course has a great short par 3 and this is Taieri's. \u00a0It is short but it deserves it low stroke index as it requires a precise tee shot to find the green and keep dry. \u00a0A bail out area to the left is there for those that need it. \u00a0A par on this hole is always a good score.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-6\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 8<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 4 | 273M | SI 12 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>Another short par 4, but with water on the left from the tee box to the green one that needs to be negotiated with care. \u00a0The longest of hitters might consider a go at the green, but OOB left and long will require a perfect tee shot. \u00a0Those laying up face a daunting second over the water to an undulating green. \u00a0The last hole of Amen Corner, if you have made it through here in par or better you have gained shots on the field.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-7\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole 9<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Par 4 | 354M | SI 6 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>OOB all down the left and large trees down the right puts a premium on finding the fairway on this par 4. \u00a0Bunkers to left and front right of the green.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"hotspot-info \" id=\"hotspot-hotspot-4252-8\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"hotspot-title\">Hole
